kingBritt Since King Britt's first release, Eculture (1990 with Josh Wink), King Britt has collaborated with the who's who of the eclectic music world. Remixing everything from Tori Amos to Macy Gray, King Britt was awarded Gold and Platinum records for his work with Donna Lewis and Paula Cole. In 1997, he released his first full length CD When the Funk Hits the Fan as SYLK130. The album went on to become was one of the most critically acclaimed LPs of 1997. His Follow-up album Re-Member's Only, on Six Degrees, featured appearances by Grover Washington Jr, Kathy Sledge, Martin Fry, Alison Moyet and De La Soul. King Britt's contribution to Awaken, "Depth," is a return to his hip hop roots. With his comrade, Rob Life, King Britt kept the track minimal, but full of sounds. When asked to explain, King Britt replied, "The 5:1 format allowed us to play with time and space. Just listen-and hear the difference."
